Harold Dennis on Montel Williams Show

LEXINGTON, Ky. – Former University of Kentucky football player Harold Dennis will be featured on the Montel Williams television show on Wednesday, April 30.

Dennis is a survivor of the 1988 bus crash near Carrollton, Ky., in which 27 people died. He was 14 years old when the accident occurred and he sustained severe burns over much of his body.

Dennis joined the Kentucky football team in 1994 as a walk-on kicker, then moved to wide receiver when the coaches saw his speed. He played in 18 games as a Wildcat, caught five passes, returned 10 kickoffs for a 23-yard average, and earned two varsity letters. In the classroom, he earned a spot on the Southeastern Conference Academic Honor Roll en route to his degree.

Dennis received numerous awards during his career, including:

* 1994 Award of Courage by the Louisville chapter of the National Football Foundation and College Hall of Fame
* 1994 UK Walk-on of the Year by the Louisville chapter of the National Football Foundation and College Hall of Fame
* 1995 Arete Award for Courage in Sports by Intersport Television
* 1996 Gene Autry Award of Courage by the California Angels and the Tempe (Ariz.) Sports Authority

Dennis lives in Lexington with his wife and three children. He is President and Chief Executive Officer of Arete Ventures, Inc., a commercial construction company.

In Lexington, the Montel Williams Show can be seen on WTVQ, channel 36, at 10 a.m. Viewers in other areas should check their local listings for the time and channel of the show.

Season Ticket Renewal Deadline is April 30: The deadline for renewal of 2008 Kentucky football season tickets is Wed., April 30. Tickets may be renewed on the Internet at ukathletics.com, in-person at the UK Athletics Ticket Office in the Joe Craft Center, or by mail.
